Performance Sports Medicine was formed to treat the injuries of recreational to elite level athletes. As a former professional dancer and choreographer, I found it very hard to obtain optimal treatment of athletic injuries in our current systems whose protocols are based upon  large population studies of a mostly non athletic population. I wanted to offer a more comprehensive treatment plan that included bio-mechanic corrections, nutritional support and other therapies that would promote tissue healing. I wished to go beyond just decreasing pain and increasing basic range of motion and strength, I wanted to offer treatments that would restore coordination and ultimately, with education, improve performance and minimize risk for future injury. I wanted to offer the edge that our country offers to its Olympic athletes or as close as we could provide. I wanted to treat my patients as if they were my family and rejoice in their successes and accomplishments.
